Functional Insight and Integration Therapy (FIIT) is a preeminent approach to psychotherapy, developed to bring clarity, precision, and depth to clinical work. FIIT provides therapists with a powerful and expansive way of understanding and working with their clients, without reducing them to a single framework or set of assumptions.
Rather than applying pre-existing models to the client, FIIT grounds all clinical reasoning in an explicit assessment of the client’s functioning, allowing therapists to determine a direction for the work that is directly derived from what is present.
The result is a flexible, rigorous, and universally applicable approach that can be used with any client, in any setting, and at any stage of a therapist’s career.

My name is Britta Regan West, and I am so excited to share FIIT with you.

Functional Insight and Integration Therapy encapsulates twenty years of fulfilling and inspiring work in the field of psychotherapy. I love talking about psychotherapy, its structure, method and application. This passion has generated countless conversations with colleagues, students and clients that have shaped and defined the modality I share with you here.

FIIT has three tiers and three streams, and those who complete all have a Master designation.
​
FIIT Foundations is the most accessible, comprehensive and universal entry-to-practice training that you can find. It welcomes new clinicians into the field with open arms, giving them the confidence to work with any client, and filling the leaping space between completing their master's and practicing with confidence and autonomy.

FIIT Clinician Certification trains and equips therapists with a universally applicable assessment, engagement and therapeutic approach that leaves no stone unturned.

Many therapeutic modalities organize treatment through pre-existing conceptual frameworks that are applied to the client, often without a fully articulated assessment of the client’s current functioning. In these cases, the model can operate at a level that is only tangentially related to what is actually occurring within the client.

FIIT is designed to eliminate this gap. It requires that all clinical reasoning be grounded in a direct, explicit mapping of the client’s functioning across domains. We embolden clinicians to autonomously and confidently determine a course of care defined by what emerges from the client, rather than what is favoured by the filter of a modality. Therapists can specialize in individuals, couples or families...or complete the full suite to the mastery level, FIIT-MC (FIIT Master Clinician).

FIIT Supervisor Certification is for the keeners among us. Clinical Supervisors who are looking to lead their teams and supervisees with incomparable insight and wisdom can specialize in individuals, couples or families, or experience the full suite of boutique clinical supervision training to fulfill the FIIT-MS designation (FIIT Master Supervisor).
